Mimaki has introduced LUS-350 UV-LED ink for thermoforming applications. Designed for both high durability and flexibility, the ink can elongate up to 350% when heated, according to Mimaki. When cooled, it returns to a hard, scratch-resistant state in the shape of the thermoformed mold. Applications include automotive components, molded signs, and prototypes. The ink is compatible with a wide range of substrates including PETG, acrylic, polycarbonate, polystyrene, and PVC.

Mimaki also reports that intricate textures are retained after molding, including double- and triple-layered prints.

LUS-350 ink is recommended for use in Mimaki’s JFX200-2513 and UJF-7151 plus UV-LED flatbed printers. Available in CMYK + white for both models, as well as clear for the UJF-7151.
