X-Rite, Grandville, MI, formed a strategic partnership with HP to seamlessly combine the worlds of inkjet printing and color control in a color-managed inkjet solution designed to offer plug-and-play color accuracy and consistency. The new HP Designjet Z Photo Series printers incorporate an embedded spectrophotometer based on X-Rite’s Eye-One technology and controlled by HP Color Center. Users reportedly can create color profiles in minutes and get accurate color matches throughout the printing process. An optional HP Advanced Profiling Solution software, also developed within the X-Rite and HP partnership, includes X-Rite ProfileMaker gamut-mapping algorithms and allows users to calibrate monitors and create and edit CMYK profiles using X-Rite’s built-in Small Testchart Technology.
