The JV-1610 UV is Mimaki’s newest flatbed inkjet printer. It’s designed for printing P-O-P display graphics and signs for both long- and short-distance viweing. The printer features a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi, an effective print area of 63 x 40 in. (1600 x 1016 mm), and a maximum print thickness of 2 in. (51 mm). The JV-1610 features a minimum dot size of 6 pl and can print up to six colors (CMYKLcLm) plus white and clear coating. Mimaki says that using white ink as the base color give images more depth and brilliance, especially when printed on uncoated, transparent, and colored media. Clear coating also can be applied to enhance color fastness. The JF family of printers can be equipped with two inkjet cartridges of each color in CMYK mode for long print runs. The JV-1610 can print onto plastics, acrylics, carton board, Dibond, and other even and uneven substrates. The printer is equipped with a vacuum system divided into six zones, a jam-detection sensor designed to prevent head strikes of deformed substrates, dual UV lamps, Y-bar height-adjustment mechanism, and a roll hanger to handle flexible or rolled substrates. Speeds range from 54-188 sq ft/hr (5.0-17.5 sq m/hr) in four-color mode at 600 dpi to 54-79 sq ft/hr (5.0-7.3 sq m/hr) in four-color mode at 1200 dpi. In six/eight-color mode, speeds range from 28-60 sq ft/hr (2.6-5.6 sq m/hr) at 600 dpi to 27-53 sq ft/hr (2.5-4.9 sq m/hr) at 1200 dpi. The printer comes with RasterLink Pro IP III RIP software. Mimaki’s Profile Master II software also can be used with the printer. Mimaki USA, 150 Satellite Blvd. NE, Ste.
