Screen Americas has expanded the capabilities of its Truepress Jet W3200UV series of flatbed printers. Users now have the option to purchase a Roll2Roll system for handling roll-fed media up to 126 in. wide. The system also features tension control and determines vacuum zones and strength according to the length and condition of the media.

The W3200UV series is offered in two configurations: standard, with four printheads per ink channel, and high speed, with eight. Each is available with a choice of three ink sets, formulated with specific applications in mind:

• Truepress WJ inks, for improved curing and adhesion to traditional substrates for P-O-P applications;
• Truepress SI inks, with more aggressive adhesion for non-traditional substrates such as acrylics and corrugated plastics;
• And Truepress CM inks, designed to be highly flexible for heat bending and stretching in industrial print applications.

The remodeled W3200UV also offers print speeds up to 1980.5 sq ft/hr (billboard mode) – reportedly 20% faster than the previous version of the series. (The company also reports that the high-speed configuration nearly doubles the print speed of the standard.) In addition, users can choose a 22-pass, unidirectional print mode for fine detail printing.

The printer supports up to 165 lbs – nearly twice the weight tolerated by the earlier model.

Additional features include a step and repeat/nesting function up to eight layers, as well as a maintenance scheduler accessible via the printer’s touchscreen monitor.
