Roland DGA Corp. recently announced the availability of free quality and productivity upgrades for its VersaCAMM VP printer/cutters and AdvancedJET printers. Roland’s free Pure Print Performance Upgrade gives existing and new users of AdvancedJET and VersaCAMM VP inkjets access to Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology, the company’s solution dsigned to eliminate banding by optimizing masking patterns and dot placement at the edge of each pass. Roalnd says upgraded VersaCAMM VP inkjets print up to 80% faster on banner and 50% faster on vinyl in Standard print mode, while the AdvancedJET can print up to 25% faster on banner in Standard print mode. Roland also notes that upgraded AdvancedJETs are further enhanced with the addition of new printhead-protection plates. VP-540/VP-300 owners can download the free upgrade kit, including Roland VersaWorks 3.1, at www.rolanddga.com/upgrade. AJ-1000/AJ-740 owners will be contacted by a Roland Authorized Dealer regarding the free upgrade kit and installation of the protection plates.
