M&R has added the HotHead, a fabric compression system offering two ways to apply heat and pressure for fiber matting, ink smoothing, foil transfer, on-press ink discharging, and other specialty printing processes. Two modules are offered (sold separately): the HotHead Roller, which applies heat and pressure using a rolling cylinder, and the HotHead FlatIron, which glides a flat, smooth metal surface across the substrate. Each module is attached to the squeegee mounting bar by two manual squeegee clamps.

An LCD display allows users to control the temperature (max. is 400 F) and two small controllers enable adjustment of the travel speed. Small cooling fans keep the external skin of the heat modules at a safe operating temperature.
