Freerange Stock, a leading source of free stock images for commercial use, announced the acquisition and integration of ImageFinder.co, a free image search aggregator. Additionally, searches conducted on Freerangestock.com now leverage a custom-developed ImageFinder API to show availability of images from over 40 additional free image websites, saving users from the burden of searching many different sites looking for the perfect image.

“There are so many fantastic free photo resources online,” said Chance Agrella, President of Freerange Stock. “We’re thrilled to offer Freerange users a link to these resources, and we’re excited to operate and expand ImageFinder in a way that promotes similar sites originating high quality photo content.”

Users searching for images on Freerangestock.com will now see brief information about their search from up to 40 additional free image sites, plus a direct link to ImageFinder to view expanded results. ImageFinder indexes free stock image sites for the sake of consolidated image search, but sends users directly to the original source site for download under the terms specific to that site. All sites indexed by ImageFinder offer free stock images under similar usage licenses, allowing commercial use without attribution.

“Free image providers are increasingly moving away from CC0 public domain licenses and towards custom licenses similar to our own, with restricted redistribution options,” Agrella continued. “In order to offer our users a better experience — and more free images — it made sense to include aggregated results from other sites. Integrating ImageFinder lets us instantly give our users access to hundreds of thousands of additional images from many great sources.”

As it has from inception, Freerange Stock – https://freerangestock.com – will continue to offer a mixture of exclusive in-house images, images uploaded by a talented, expanding community of photographers from around the world, and CC0 images from public domain sources. ImageFinder.co – https://imagefinder.co – will remain a standalone service, continually adding to its existing search index of over 250,000 free stock photos from sites across the web.
