Foster City, CA-based EFI won three European Digital Press (EDP) Association Awards for 2010: Best Wide Format Printer up to 3.5 Meters for the VUTEk GS3200, Best Industrial Printing Solution for the Jetrion 4830, and Best RIP Solution for Wide Format for Fiery XF.

A committee of independent consultants, editors, engineers, and other related professionals chose the winners in each category for EDP. Decisions were based on innovation and the value of new technologies to the European marketplace. This includes improvements in speed, quality, usability, and the reduction of environmental impact and cost to customer.

The VUTEk GS3200 earned the award for its capabilities as a 3.2-m, UV-curable flatbed and roll-fed printer with a maximum output resolution of 1000 dpi and the ability to produce 12-pl droplets in all colors. The Jetrion 4830 was designed for the label market and uses UV-curable inks. It can be used on pre-printed and pre-die-cut rolls, and is said to print 120 ft/min. The Fiery XF RIP supports contour-cutting machines with drivers for 1200 cutting and routing tables from a variety of manufacturers.
