GSG Offers Educational Classes in August

GSG, the distributor of equipment and supplies for decorating apparel and creating graphics and signage, will offer a slate of classes at its five regional locations in the month of August.

Car Wraps, Houston, Texas: How to get started in the vehicle-wrap market, a two-day class taught by Jeff Wagner, a 3M-certified installer. Topics include design, choosing materials, and surface prep; day two includes a full-wrap install. Thursday, August 7 – Friday, August 8

Intro to Embroidery, Tulsa, Oklahoma: Learn successful embroidery techniques on a wide range of fabrics and materials; plus, how to select the proper stabilizer, needle, and hoop. Thursday, August 14.

Advanced Embroidery, Tulsa: A one-day class on how to digitize embroidery designs. In addition to learning stitch types, artwork requirements, and how to create production-friendly designs, the class will also cover appliqué and three-dimensional foam. Friday, August 15.

Intro to Screen Printing, Baton Rouge, Lousiana: This class is designed to walk attendees through the process step by step. Using a combination of lecture and hands-on training, the instructor covers film options, screen making, inks, press setup and registration, printing techniques, and trouble-shooting. Friday, August 15.

Digital Preventative Maintenance, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: Roland-trained instructors teach the proper daily cleaning methods for any large-format or inkjet printer. Also included: How to diagnose problems and make repairs, and how to replace consumable parts. Friday, August 15.

Alternative Lighting, Oklahoma City: Users will learn about new ways to light up sign cabinets. The session covers LED fluorescent lightning options from a variety of major manufacturers including Principal LED, Sloan LED, USLED, Voltarc, and ZLight. Solutions will be discussed for interior, exterior, double-sided lighting, and more. Friday, August 22, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
